Wow. Just wow.
My laptop's 13-inch screen didn't hinder the film's intensity one bit. It was surreal. It was intense. It was edgy. It was jarring. Did I say intense?
Requiem For A Dream.
I always thought of Trainspotting as the most brilliant drugs movie. But Requiem For A Dream goes beyond that. It goes beyond the drug theme and centres on the all encompassing theme of addiction.
Addiction to drugs, tv, food, dreams, hopes, money, sex... ...
Wow. Even as I'm blogging this, my head is still racing with imagery and music from the film.
Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly, they were awesome.
But most of all, Ellen Burstyn. Her performance itself is enough for the price of the DVD.
