SOS

i recall a very nice and long conversation i had with this 64 year old aussie bloke in vietnam...and amongst the things we spoke about, was that the world was in bad shape.

of the violence, conflict, mistrust, wars, battles, civil animosity...all these have simply escalated over the years into something that's become somewhat of a norm.

and don't blame terrorism. it was always brewing under the surface. it was never a cause but rather, an effect.

but anyways, amongst the things we spoke of, was that the world needs a jesus.

i don't mean to be religious, and frankly i'm not. (insert random sec4 quote here)

but i believe we need someone who was what jesus was. the epitome of hope.

some may say the dalai lama is the one. but is he really?
i agree that he is an inspiration but how many of us look to him for actual guidance?
and besides, being a buddhist, is it really in his nature to preach?

the dalai lama is an awesome individual, eloquent, charming and definitely powerful in a quiet sorta way. but i honestly don't think he is the one we need.

and it is quite sad that frankly, the closest we can get to someone who inspires others is...well...barack obama.

not that he isn't likeable...but come on. at the end of the day, he IS a politician.

so really...i do feel we need someone different, someone new.

thoughts?
