So as Sydney recovers from the post-apocalyptic scenes witnessed today, its residents still have much cleaning up to do. Almost every surface is caked with dust, and every breath I take in the open evokes that familiar dusty taste at the back of my tongue.

To put it in relative terms, cast your mind back to the heyday of South East Asian haze, where PSI levels of above 200 were considered hazardous and reason enough to shut down schools. The PSI today?

Anyhow, I reached work eager to snap some photos of the famed Sydney monuments obscured and cloaked in dust. The dust did not disappoint.


If you need some hints, the first is of the Opera House and in the second you can just make out the faint outline of the Harbour Bridge.

And no, this time I can't even blame the shoddy quality of my camera phone. It was THAT bad. Heck, even a DSLR would have just made the dust look more refined.
